Potatoes: Nutritious, away from many diseases

potato ! The king of every kitchen, without whose step the vegetables kept in the kitchen seem somewhat incomplete. There are many vegetables that are incomplete without potatoes. It is no wonder that potato is the most used vegetable in the world. Potatoes are grown all over the world, but in history, potato production has been reported in Peru in South America. It was from here that the journey of potato started which reached Europe and Africa and Asia. Potatoes were brought to India by the Portuguese around the sixteenth century, which the Portuguese used to call ‘Batata’.

Potato is the most popular and most used vegetable in the world. It is the fourth most prominent food crop in the world. It is the most prominent food crop in India after rice, wheat, maize and sugarcane. Around 5000 varieties of potatoes are used all over the world. It is cultivated all over India, especially in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Pt Bengal, Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Potato is rich in nutrients. Its main nutritional element is starch. It also contains protein. Potato is alkaline. Therefore, it is very helpful in increasing or retaining the amount of alkalis in the body.

Potatoes from nutritious tubers like potatoes are low-calorie, cholesterol-free, rich in magnesium, potassium, vitamins, especially vitamin C, B6, and potatoes are high in starch. Due to the benefits of potato, potato bulb and leaves are used more as medicine in Ayurveda.

Medical Properties of Potato

Potato acts like a fiber, which is found in large amounts in its skin. Having fiber reduces constipation.

Potato helps digest food and prevents indigestion. It is a rapidly digested carbohydrate. Boiled or roasted potatoes reduce its fat and calories. Therefore, it is more useful in health.

Potatoes are rich in iron, vitamin B6, vitamin C, manganese, and phosphorus, niacin and pantothenic acid, which cater to the deficiency of mineral elements in the body. Due to which the body remains healthy.

By eating potatoes, blood vessels remain flexible for a long life. Due to which long life can be attained.

Potato is free of fat, sodium and cholesterol and is a carbohydrated food in the form of starch, which relieves diseases like heart and diabetes.

Eating only potatoes in kidney stones is very beneficial. Kidney stones are easily removed by feeding only potato to the patient of stone, and by drinking more water again and again.

Potatoes contain potassium salt which prevents acidity. For those who have acidity, that is, sour belts, excess air is produced, roasted potatoes in hot sand or burning ash is very beneficial. Roasted potatoes also relieve chronic constipation.

If the skin has got scorched, the skin has burnt due to strong sunlight, then applying potato juice is beneficial.

Applying extract of raw potato juice is beneficial for skin diseases.

Potato juice prevents many diseases. Therefore, drinking a spoonful of potato juice four times a day can prevent many diseases.

Potatoes are very useful even if there is a kidney problem. In the case of less urine, frying potatoes and eating it helps in less urinary problems.

Potato is helpful in increasing breast milk. Consuming roasted potatoes increases the amount of milk in the breast.

Potato effect is hot. It is helpful in reducing inflammation. The solenin obtained from it relieves nerve pain. Using solenine reduces skin disease and also reduces the chances of colon cancer.

Sometimes, mouth blisters occur due to lack of nutrition or due to unbalanced eating. Mouth blisters are reduced by consuming roasted tubers of potato.

Potato is also beneficial in arthritis. Taking salt, chilli on potatoes baked in fire and eating regularly helps to relieve swelling and pain of arthritis. This is due to the anti inflammatory properties found in potatoes.

Potato peel contains vitamins, minerals. Therefore, boiled potato water has plenty of minerals and vitamins. Instead of throwing that water, it should be used for making vegetables.

Potato helps in normalizing blood pressure by eating potatoes in high blood pressure.

Sometimes the skin turns blue on injury. Applying grinded raw potatoes on blue area not only provides relief but also cleanses the skin.

Grinding potato and rubbing it on the skin makes the skin clear (blond).

There is a belief that eating potatoes increases obesity. While the truth is that the smoothness caused by frying potatoes increases obesity. Eating boiled potatoes or roasting them in hot sand or fire ash is beneficial.

Sinusitis causes various symptoms in people of varying ages. Usually there are symptoms like cold. When a person has a cold and allergy, the sinus tissues make more mucus and swell, which causes pain. Potato is beneficial in sinusitis. Mixing 4 drops honey and rock salt in potato juice, taking it provides relief from throat irritation and sinus.

Often, due to the effect of the weather, the cough is not named. Chronic cough is cured by taking 4 drops of potato leaves juice to get relief from cough.

Grind potato and apply it on the burn area with fire, it helps in reducing wounds and swelling.

In the problem of itching caused by allergies, cutting raw potato and rubbing itching places is beneficial.

After making raw potato paste and applying it on the face for 30 minutes, the face should be washed with lukewarm water. Doing this for a few days provides relief from facial spots and pimples. At the same time, the skin glows.

After feeling weakness, roasting potatoes and making pudding, it provides strength. Toast potato, add ginger and mint and make juice and drink it increases appetite and removes weakness.

Side Effects of Potato

Toxic effects are sometimes seen in green potatoes. Therefore, the inner part should be used with caution. Eating more potatoes produces laziness in the body.
